nourishment

Food made with care, served with love.

Every meal at Untuk Anak is prepared fresh, daily, with ingredients sourced from local farms and markets. We believe good food shapes how children feel, learn, and grow.

Our approach

Nutrition that respects growing bodies.

We don't just feed children — we teach them to love real food. Our kitchen is guided by simple principles that put health, taste, and respect for ingredients first.

Fresh & local

We source ingredients from local farmers and markets in Tabanan. Fruits are picked ripe, vegetables arrive within hours of harvest, and meats come from trusted local suppliers.

No deep frying

Every meal is prepared through steaming, grilling, baking, or light sautéing. We avoid deep-fried foods entirely to support healthy growth and digestion.

Low sugar, natural sweetness

We do not add refined sugar to any meal. Sweetness comes from fruits, dates, or a touch of honey. Children develop natural palates for real food.

Balanced plates

Every meal includes a balance of complex carbohydrates, quality protein, healthy fats, and fibre-rich vegetables. We follow age-appropriate portion guidelines.

Allergen aware

We maintain detailed records of every child's allergies and dietary restrictions. Allergen-free alternatives are prepared separately with dedicated utensils.

Water first

Children have access to filtered water throughout the day. We serve water with every meal and do not offer sweetened drinks or juices during the school day.

Dietary care

Every child is included.

We partner closely with families to ensure every child's dietary needs are met with care and confidence. No child is left out of a shared meal experience.

  • Vegetarian and vegan alternatives available for every meal.
  • Halal-certified meat sourcing from trusted local suppliers.
  • Gluten-free options prepared with dedicated cooking equipment.
  • Dairy-free alternatives (coconut, oat) available on request.
  • Texture-modified meals available for younger children or those with feeding needs.

Meal times

A rhythm of shared eating.

Meal times are social, calm, and unhurried. Children help set the table, serve themselves where able, and learn table manners through gentle modeling. Educators sit and eat with the children — never apart.

Special occasions

Celebrating through food.

Birthdays and cultural celebrations are marked with simple, meaningful food experiences. Families may share a traditional dish from home, and children learn about the diversity of food and culture within their community.

We do not allow outside sweets, lollies, or packaged treats for celebrations. Instead, we prepare something special together — fruit skewers, homemade cakes with natural sweeteners, or a shared cooking experience.

from the kitchen

A note from our cooks

"We cook as if for our own children — because these children become part of our family. Every meal is made that morning, with hands that know what growing bodies need."
